What is sauna?
A sauna is a small room or building designed as a place to experience dry or wet heat sessions with well controlled humidity. Saunas are used for both recreational and therapeutic purposes.
Traditional versus infrared sauna
Although the two types of saunas offer many of the same benefits to their users, but there are significant differences between the traditional sauna and the infrared sauna. We will explore the differences and similarities between these two and why you might prefer one over the other. It is important to keep in mind that the experience is not the same.
For those who enjoy steam in the sauna with higher temperature, low in humidity and a more social environment, then traditional sauna may be the best for you. The traditional sauna will be drier until water is splashed over the heater rock to create a blast of hyper steam and intensify the feeling of heat. Traditional sauna offer complete climate control where user can controls and set the temperature and pour water over the rocks to combine humidity levels to their liking.
If you prefer a lower temperature with body penetrating heat, then infrared sauna may be your best choice. Infrared sauna provides a much milder environment that tends to be close to normal house humidity unless it has been on for extended periods of time, you can control the temperature but the humidity is whatever it is. For those who enjoy the “heat bath” experience, but cannot take or do not enjoy traditional saunas, infrared is an excellent alternative.
