There are so many different options of sauna accessories available in the market for you to choose from. How do you know what sauna accessories do you need? Here we provide some guidelines to help you on selecting the right sauna accessories.
After you have your home sauna installed, careful plan and jot down what accessories do you find yourself needing in the sauna. Make a list of accessories that you need and prioritize it. Always choose function over form. If you’re on a budget, you’ll want to short list the accessories that will make your sauna experience more enjoyable.
The basic equipments includes:
Bucket and ladles – The traditional wooden bucket and ladle is still very popular and wooden bucket now come with a plastic liner that prevents water leaking. A metal bucket and ladle can be used to as it is treated with powder-coating and extremely durable protective coating. Metal objects in the sauna will get hot to the touch so store them down at floor level where the temperatures are cooler.
Clock and thermometer – The measure of a sauna session should be calculated in terms of the time it goes on for, and the temperature at which the sauna is set. For this reason, many saunas must contain a clock or a timer (traditionally an hourglass timer), and a decent thermometer. The main thing to remember is that everything in your sauna must be heat and moisture resistant.
These accessories are not necessary but it will definitely enhance your sauna experience:
Hygrometer – If you are keen to keep track of the atmosphere in your sauna, you may consider installing hygrometer to measure relative humidity. Again, it must be hot and moist resistant.
Brushes and sponges – The use of a good, natural bristle back brush or sponge stimulates circulation under the skin and brush off contaminates and dead skin.
Head Rests, back rest and leg rest – Head rests are essential for a complete relaxation when laying down. Some designs also serve as back rests, or foot rests for elevating the feet while laying down.
Towel – The towel must be large enough for you to be able to lay on it. Always use a highly absorbent towel to keeps the benches clean and provide you comfort.
